My HP laptop is now back up and working great. Thanks HP for a quick turn around. I doubted them when it went down after only 54 days but now it seems to working fine. The paperwork stated they had to replace the system board. I read this was a problem with a lot of other people too.

I am back and business and blogging away.

It’s all good

It’s Wednesday officially known in my book as Hump Day. Yeah.

I have two more days of Dreamweaver. I have to admit that this class is much easier that the last few Adobe products I have been studying. I could be because I am already familiar with HTML or that the application does all the work for you. It’s amazing to see the changes from the old version I was working on to the CS3 version we are testing on.

Hey by the way…if anyone knows of some good websites that would help me study for the ACE exams I would love to hear from you.

My PowerPoint class was a hoot today. They were a fun group and that program is fun to work with too.

Now I’m ready to pick up my little man. He stayed all night with Grandpa Les and Grandma Penny. While it was peaceful at the house I missed him terribly.

Have a good week all.

What a day. OK here goes my rant. I really can’t stand to hearthe words “…they will be there/delivered before 8pm.” Now how in the world can any one sit around the house all day just waiting for a delivery or service repair person. Unbelievable.

I sent my laptop off for service and was surprised when they said it would be back within a week. Only problem is it could be another week before I can be home for the delivery to sign for the package. Luckly I worked for a Logistics company know a little about routes and locations in my area. So I stopped by another business in the area I knew he stopped at. And by luck of the gods I was able to get my package without sitting at home all day the next week.

OK done…All ends well.

My son and I released his butterfly yesterday. Thanks to the No Child Left Indoors program he was given the opportunity to see the metamorphosis stages of a butterfly.

We attended an Earth Day event where he was given a caterpillar and net house. Over the last week we have watched it change into a chrysalis then into a butterfly.

He talked to it, named it (Mr. Worm) and even hung colored pictures beside it’s house over this period of time. It was a very educational experience I am glad he enjoyed.

I love the activities NCLI organizes. It gives children to get outdoors and learn at the same time. Keep up the good work NCLI and you have my full support.

My busy week has begun. Starting with instructing a Word Basic class then off to Adobe classes for the rest of the day.

Word class was fine and went fairly smoothly. Really love interacting with the folks from ABX and DHL.

Sitting right now in Premiere. I love it but give me some video. Just going over the elements right now. I will be in here until 5 then onto After Effects for another 4 hours tonight.

Now ask me about my first week of class (Flash) and I may be able to remember a little bit.

Ready for the Weekend

Classes are out for the weekend. YEAH.

I subbed today at the HS and it was in Computer class. Since I conduct Microsoft Office classes on a regular basis to adults this was a piece of cake for me. It did give me some time to complete my online lessons for the Adobe CS3 courses I am taking and research my marketing plan for CCLI.

This leads me into my next subject. My BFF mentioned that she may have a lead for me on a sport marketing/sales position which could involve event management. I am so excited but not trying to be to be (you know how big of a downer it is when things end up not working out). It could be some really crazy hours but the future possibilities it could lead to are great and it is right up my alley with my background in sports and a Masters degree in Sport Administration. Better get busy and update my resume. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

My son and I had a great evening together we went Mother’s Day shopping and did our usually Chick-Fil-A stop. I am going to miss this time with him when I go back to a permanent work schedule. Although it did come at the right time in his life.

Well off to study some more.

In case I forget Happy Mother’s Day to all my fellow women bloggers and mother’s out there.

Adobe Classes Introduction

I just finished week 3 of my 8 week series with Adobe CS3.  Through a special program funded by the state I am getting the opportunity to take Adobe training from new Horizons Computer Learning Center. Each week we study a new product in the suite. It stated the last week of April and testing will conducted the last week of June.

Week 1 was Flash. I love it and I really want to spend some more time developing in this program. Thank goodness I already have some background in programming so the Action script has come to me a little bit easy. I have vision of project I want to put together. I will post something soon.

Week 2 was Illustrator. Let get it out in the open that I am not an artist. While see the true benefits of this program I forsee myself only using this program to edit existing vector or bitmap graphics.

Week 3 is Photoshop. I have been working with Photoshop for several years but wanted to really delve down deep into the program. This class did not live up to my expectations. While I did pick up a few tips I think it feel short. I will post some graphics I have worked.

Week 4 …. hold on to your seats is Premiere and After Effects. Yes both back to back all in one week. I will have After Effects the first half of the day then Premiere following. This set of programs from the suite I am really excited about. I love working with video and this I hope will really get me better. I will post next to let you know.

I am not even going to begin to talk about how nervous I am about the certification test. My goal which may be modest is to pass 2 to 4 out of the 8 test from the suite. What do you think?
